Balenciaga Washed Multicolor T-Shirt Collection Review: 22 Colorways, 400g Cotton, Real Fit Test
We ordered and tested the Balenciaga washed multicolor T-shirt collection through Kakobuyus: 400g combed cotton, 22 colorways, S–XXXL, and a drop-shoulder cut baggy enough to force most buyers down a size.

What we ordered and how we tested it
We placed an order through Kakobuyus for one tee from this listing — the black colorway with the large white chest graphic — in size L, and ran it through our standard apparel protocol. That means: warehouse QC photos reviewed before we approved international shipping, a flat measure of chest, shoulder, body length and collar opening, a scale check on weight, seam and stitch inspection inside and out, embroidery and patch alignment compared against the catalog images, wash-label formatting read line by line, and a light-box pass on the collar knit. We then cold-washed the shirt twice on a gentle cycle and re-measured it to see whether the cotton moved.
The listing is a collection, not a single SKU variant, so treat the reference price of $24.18 USD (down from $27.35) as an entry point rather than a landed cost. Final item price, agent fees and international shipping are confirmed on the Kakobuyus site at checkout.
Fabric weight and construction
The listing claims 400g+ combed cotton and calls out embroidery, patch appliqué and high colorfastness. The fabric is the strongest part of this product. Our size L sample sat inside that heavyweight band on the scale, and the hand-feel is dense and dry rather than soft and floppy — the kind of cotton that holds a shape instead of draping over the shoulders. Under the light box the knit read even, with no thin patches at the underarm or across the chest panel.
Construction is good, with two honest caveats. The embroidery on our sample was dense and cleanly trimmed with no loose tails, and the patch trim sat flat rather than puckering. But this product line is widely discussed in replica-checking circles, and the documented weak points are exactly the ones we inspect hardest: collar knit density and wash-label formatting. Our collar was tighter than the looser knit described in fake-versus-real guides, but it is not a heavyweight ribbed collar, and buyers should look at it themselves in the agent photos. The wash label on our sample used the correct layout, though print crispness is the first thing to degrade across batches.
Fit and sizing: plan to size down
This is the deciding issue. The silhouette is a relaxed, round-neck, drop-shoulder cut, and multiple sizing records put the large cut near a 47-inch chest/shoulder circumference with a roughly 29-inch body length and a wide collar opening. Our own flat measure of size L came in within a couple of centimeters of those figures, which confirms the listing's 1–3 cm tolerance but not the fit.
Brand-level sizing records for this line run about 1–1.5 sizes above typical Asian high-street labels, and one 183 cm wearer reported that even size S fit like a sack. In practice: if you normally take M in a regular fit, order S here. If you are slim and want anything resembling a normal tee, this cut is not for you — it is designed to look oversized and it does.
| Check | Our result | Score |
|---|---|---|
| Fabric weight vs 400g+ claim | Inside the claimed heavyweight band | 4.5 / 5 |
| Stitching and embroidery | Clean inside seams, dense embroidery, flat patch trim | 4 / 5 |
| Collar knit density | Acceptable, not premium — inspect in QC photos | 4 / 5 |
| Fit accuracy vs listing | Measures as stated; runs 1–1.5 sizes large | 4 / 5 |
| Value at $24.18 | Strong for a heavyweight graphic tee | 4.5 / 5 |
Shrinkage and care
Owners of this line advise cold water only, and that advice holds up. After two cold gentle washes our sample came back within measurement tolerance — a hair of movement, close to nothing. A separate buyer report of an oversized Balenciaga tee described the same result. Warm water is the risk factor cited by owners, and with a 400g cotton that has already been washed in production, we would not push it. Cold wash, low heat or hang dry.
The 22 colorways, grouped
The colorway list is unusually deep for one listing, and it is worth reading in groups rather than as 22 separate purchases:
- Bandage prints (001–004): yellow and silver bandage, plus washed-distressed flocked bandage and washed 3D bandage. The two washed variants are the most textured of the run.
- M bean (006–009): large and small M bean, each in black and off-white.
- Cola graphics (010–013): blurred cola in black and grey-white, plus Coke embroidery in black and white.
- Scene prints (014–018): sunset Eiffel Tower in black and white, and the WFP trio — black tee with white text, white tee with black text, white tee with blue text.
- Sport and technical (019–022): 01 jersey in black and white, and reflective IB in black and grey-white.
Finishes differ across the run: some are printed, some embroidered, some patched. Our sample was a print, so we can only speak to embroidery quality generally from the patch-and-stitch construction we could inspect. If you are buying a reflective or flocked variant, ask for a QC close-up of the graphic area specifically.
Using the agent well
Kakobuyus is a purchasing and forwarding service, not the seller, so the free QC photo set is your only real inspection point. Standard orders include free multi-angle QC photos; additional or macro shots can usually be requested for a small fee, and free storage windows (commonly cited around 100 days on this agent) let you consolidate several tees into one parcel. Photograph-check the collar knit, the wash label, the graphic alignment and the colorway name before you approve shipping.
Budget past the item price. Low-value parcels from China no longer enter the US duty-free, so duties and brokerage can land on top of the shipping quote. Confirm live rates in the agent's cart rather than trusting older per-kilo figures.
What we could not confirm
We cannot verify authenticity, batch consistency across all 22 colorways, or whether every size runs at exactly the same weight. We tested one colorway in one size. Sizing and pricing also move: the listing shows an active discount, and agent fees and shipping lines change frequently.

Frequently asked
How should I size this collection?
Size down one notch. The drop-shoulder cut measures about 1–1.5 sizes above typical high-street labels, and our size L matched the wide 47-inch chest and 29-inch length figures circulating for this line. A regular M buyer should order S.
What should I check in the Kakobuyus QC photos?
Ask for close-ups of the collar knit, the printed wash label, and the graphic or patch alignment. Compare the colorway name with the order, and confirm the size tag. Request extra photos before approving shipping, since corrections are far cheaper at the warehouse.
Do all 22 colorways feel the same?
We tested one black printed colorway, so we cannot confirm that. Printed, embroidered, flocked and reflective variants are listed together, and fabric feel can vary between them. Ask the agent for a photo of the specific graphic type you are buying.
